How do I set up Fitbit Pay?
To start, add at least one (1) BankVic Visa card to the Wallet section of the Fitbit app. To set up Fitbit Pay:
- With your watch or tracker nearby, on the Fitbit app dashboard, tap your profile (upper left hand corner).
- Tap your watch or tracker tile.
- Tap the Wallet tile.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to add a payment card. In some cases, your card issuer may require additional verification. If you’re adding a card for the first time, you’ll be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN code for your watch or tracker (if you haven’t already done so). Note that you also need to have Touch ID or a PIN code turned on for your phone.
- After you’ve added a card, follow the on-screen instructions to turn on notifications for your phone (if you haven’t already done so) to complete the setup. You can add up to 6 payment cards to the wallet and choose from these on your NFC enabled Fitbit device.
Why am I unable to complete the verification process in my device?
To complete verification process, BankVic sends a one-time password to your BankVic registered mobile number. You need to call our Contact Centre in order to update your mobile number in our records.
How do I use the Wallet?
The Wallet section of the Fitbit app is where you add and remove payment cards for Fitbit Pay, edit a payment method, and review recent purchases. If you lose your NFC enabled Fitbit device, you can also suspend the card on your watch or tracker for added security.
To open the Wallet, on the Fitbit app dashboard, tap or click your profile > Tap or click your watch or tracker tile > Wallet.
How do I make a payment with Fitbit Pay?
- If you have your BankVic Visa card setup in Fitbit Pay, simply hold your watch or tracker near the payment terminal to pay.
- If the purchase amount exceeds $100, enter the PIN code for your card (not for your watch or tracker) into the payment terminal. If the payment terminal doesn’t recognize Fitbit Pay, make sure the watch or tracker face is near the reader. When paying at a store, make sure the cashier knows you’re using a contactless payment. Note that for added security, you must wear your watch or tracker on your wrist to make payments with Fitbit Pay.
Do I need to have my phone nearby to use Fitbit Pay?

If your payment was declined, contact us at 13 63 73 to get more information about the transaction.
If I lost my watch or fitness tracker can someone else use it to make payments?
You must enter your personal 4-digit PIN code on your NFC enabled Fitbit device to use Fitbit Pay—either to unlock your watch or tracker after you put it back on your wrist or to authorize a payment during the point of sale (depending on how you set up the device lock). This means that no one can use your watch or tracker to make a payment without first entering the PIN code.
For more information on how to set the device lock, see “How do I set a device lock on my Fitbit watch or tracker?”. When you add a card to your Fitbit watch or tracker, the device lock will be turned on and you’ll be prompted to set a 4-digit PIN code for your watch or tracker. This means you’ll be asked for your PIN code whenever you put your Fitbit watch or tracker on your wrist. If you wear your Fitbit watch or tracker for 24 hours, the device lock will time out, and you’ll be prompted to enter your PIN code to authorize a payment. (Your Fitbit watch or tracker will be unlocked for the next 24 hours if the watch or tracker remains on your wrist).
If you choose to disable the device lock, you won’t be asked for your PIN code each time you put your Fitbit watch or tracker on your wrist— you’ll only be prompted to enter the PIN code the first time you make a payment since last taking off your watch or tracker. For added security, you can suspend the card on your watch or tracker in the Wallet section of the Fitbit app (even if your watch or tracker isn’t nearby). When you suspend a card, it remains stored in your Wallet, but you can’t use it to make payments with your watch or tracker. Note that you can still make payments using the physical card, so contact BankVic immediately or go to the Card Management tool within the BankVic app if the card was lost or stolen.
To suspend a card:
- On Fitbit app dashboard, tap your profile.
- Tap your watch or tracker tile.
- Tap the Wallet tile.
- Swipe to find the card you want to suspend.
- Tap or click Suspend Card.
To reactivate the card on your watch or tracker, complete these steps and tap or click Unsuspend Card.
I forgot the pin code for my watch or tracker. How do I reset it?
Reset the PIN code for your watch or tracker in the Fitbit app.
To reset your PIN code:
- On Fitbit app dashboard, tap your profile.
- Tap your watch or tracker tile.
- Tap Device Lock.
- Find the option to reset your PIN code and then follow the onscreen instructions.
