BankVic today announced that they have reached 100,000 members and to thank members for their support they will soon be announcing the winner of the $10,000 BankVic Community Hero Award.
"Adding our 100,000th member to our community is a significant milestone in BankVicâs rich history, to continue the legacy that Victoria Police started in 1974 and now extends to the health, emergency and public services." Said Stephen Capello, BankVic CEO.
"It's such an honour that 100,000 members have chosen to bank with us. BankVic exists to strengthen the communities in which it serves, with the aim for our members and their communities to be enriched financially, socially and environmentally. Since 2010, BankVic has invested over $1,000,000 into the communities and institutions that support our members and we are very proud of this." Said Stephen.
BankVic launched the 'Nominate a community hero' award to acknowledge and celebrate the community heroes going above and beyond their daily lives to strengthen the community we live in.
Since the initiative launched in March 2016, there have been over 140 nominations for the $10,000 award. The quality of the nominations has been exceptionally high with nominees displaying acts of notable courage, bravery and generosity to help others in the community.
The nominees have been judged by an esteemed group of community leaders, representative of BankVic's core member sectors including Victoria police, health and emergency services. The 2016 BankVic Community Hero award winner will be announced in July.
"This award is our way of thanking all of our members for their ongoing support. Our bank believes a healthy member base and healthy communities create a healthy bank. We will always aim to provide banking value, enabling our members to achieve their dreams." Said John Mugavin, BankVic Chairman.
"After 42 years we have grown to 100,000 members strong and have reached $1.5 billion in assets. This year BankVic will continue to make our members proud as we provide a service that is with compassion, personalised and where our members come first. It's what we call 'Banking with heart'." Said Stephen.
